Arnaldur Indridason

Arnaldur Indridason (b. 1961) has been Iceland`s most popular author for decades. He is the winner of the CWA Gold Dagger Award for the top crime novel of the year in the English language, Silence of the Grave. He also has the rare distinction of having won the Nordic Crime Novel Prize two years running. The Shadow District – the first book in the Reykjavik Wartime Mystery series – won the Premio RBA de Novela Negra, one of the world’s most prestigious crime fiction prizes. Jar City was nominated for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and The Draining Lake was nominated for the Icelandic Literary Prize. Indridason has received The Order of the Falcon, the highest order of the Republic of Iceland, for his contribution to Icelandic literature. His novels have sold over 20 million copies worldwide, in 45 languages.
