The Unwelcome Man (2018)

One bright summer's night in Reykjavik, two tragic events occur: A well-known entrepreneur falls from one of the balconies of an apartment block, right next to where foreign workers are sitting and having a drink, and a woman sets her apartment on fire. One of the foreign workers is a close acquaintance of Edda and she knows various questionable things about the man who fell from the balcony. Or was he perhaps pushed?

And what was Snorri, Edda’s son, doing at the apartment block in the middle of the night? This is the third book about Edda, and it is safe to say that it grips the reader to the very end.

Leosdottir’s narrative is exceptionally heartfelt and chock-full of warmth, making for a gentle reading experience even though it’s a thrilling crime novel
