Hunger (2022)
Grimsson #11
It is late summer in Reykjavík when the police receive a report about a mysterious disappearance. A young man from the Westfjords, who intended to camp in the city area, has vanished without a trace. Hörður Grímsson is investigating the case. His attention is mainly drawn to the green areas of the city, including Elliðaárdalur. The forest in the valley stretches between the river branches and is larger and more mysterious than it initially appears.
A few days later, a brutal murder is reported in broad daylight at a home near Elliðaárdalur. There, the housewife is found lying in her own blood. The scene is so horrific that neither Hörður nor his colleagues have seen anything like it. To make matters worse, Hörður fears that the cases are connected and that the horror is not over.
The clock is ticking, and somewhere in the shadows of the city hides a sick soul driven by an insatiable hunger.
