Sjón (b.1962) has published numerous poetry collections and his long-time collaboration with the Icelandic singer Björk led to an Oscar nomination for his lyrics for the Lars von Trier movie Dancer in the Dark. His collection of poems The Song of the Stone Collector was nominated for the Icelandic Literary Prize in 2007. House Sparrows and Sea Urchins is Sjón‘s twelfth independent volume of poetry, featuring poems written from 2005 to 2015.
