Dear reader,

Stella here! If you’ve read My Bonkers Mum and Professor Dad, you know who I am. You can’t even imagine what happened in the weeks before my confirmation. It was so amazing that I had to write another book! I don’t want to say too much, but we’re talking about a contest between life and death, and DEATH itself (I’m not kidding!), and finally my grandma in Copenhagen – the best grandma. Have fun! Regards,

            Stella (alive and kicking).

The Stella‘s Bonkers Family Series has earned its place among Iceland‘s most popular children’s books. Each of the books has won Iceland’s Children’s Choice Book Award and the first, My Bonkers Mum!, also won the Icelandic Literary Prize for Children and Young People’s Books. The book was adapted into a popular stage play by the Gaflaraleikhus Theater, and the audience there — just like the other Stella fans around Iceland — cheered for more. And now they have yet another story!

Reviews

“The problems that Stella wrestles with are issues that most teenagers identify with, even though Stella’s problems are more exaggerated and farcical than normal – she also has spina bifida and gets around in a wheel chair. Stella is, all things considered, just the same as other awkward teenagers, and readers easily relate to her. Stella herself is a likeable character who shows a great deal of development in the book, but she is far from perfect. She’s funny, but other characters are too, like the neighbor Hanni, Granny the snob, and little brother Siggi who struggles to say “r”. The reader is simply at risk of cramping their “smile-muscles”

while reading!“ Frettabladid daily
