Grimsson #9
Hörður Grimsson is investigating a serious assault on a crime boss, but the attacker, drug dealer William Smári Clover, is still at large. Smári is being hunted by both the police and vengeful criminals.
At the same time, a sociopathic man kidnaps his month-old daughter and plans to take her out of the country. The mother is in despair when the system fails her, but help comes from an unexpected direction. The chase spreads to the countryside, and soon underworld thugs are streaming onto the highway with Hörður close behind them – an infant's life is in danger, and time is running out.
Reviews
Stefán's stylistic finesse is as sharp as ever, and in "Black's Game" all his best authorial traits are on display. The story is masterfully written and structured, with Stefán Máni in his element; no other writer in the country knows the underworld as well as he does. The plot is fast-paced and thrilling. The character development is rich, and the characters are believable. Moreover, the author succeeds in creating situations where the reader cannot help but laugh, despite being surrounded by darkness and horror.
