Halldor Gudmundsson

Halldor Gudmundsson

(b.1956) is a writer living in Reykjavik. He studied literature at the University of Iceland and then at the University of Copenhagen. For 19 years he worked in publishing, for the longest time as the publisher for Mal og menning. At the same time he continued researching and writing about literature, with emphasis on the works of of the Icelandic Nobel prize laureate, Halldór Laxness. His biography of Halldór Laxness, which was also published in English, received the Icelandic Literary Prize in 2004. Gudmundsson has been the project manager for a Guest of Honour country at the Frankfurt book fair twice; Iceland (2011), and Norway (2019).
