Alfrun Gunnlaugsdottir
(b.1938–2021) authored numerous novels and short stories. She won a number of commendations for her writing, including three nominations for the Nordic Council Literature Prize and two for the Icelandic Literary Prize. She won the Icelandic Women’s Literature Prize for her novel Ran, as well as The DV Cultural Prize for Literature.
